Verdi Square

Located on a small triangle of land between 72nd St. on the south, 73rd St. on the north, Broadway on the west and Amsterdam on the east. Named for the opera composer Giuseppe Verdi whose monument stands in the center of the square. Frequently known as Needle Park in the 1960’s and 1970’s when it was populated by drug dealers and users. nycgovparks.org
