Celebrate The Lunar New Year at an Upper West Side Restaurant

The Chinese New Year, sometimes known as the Lunar New Year, generally falls somewhere between late January and mid-February.  In 2024, Saturday, February 10th starts the Chinese New Year and with that, a Year of the Dragon. The Lunar New Year is celebrated in a variety of ways by Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean communities as well as others of Asian culture. Observance of the New Year brings multiple days of celebration that include family gatherings, festivities, and food. The holiday often ends with a Lantern Festival. 

Here in New York City, the 25th Annual Lunar New Year Parade & Festival will be held downtown on February 25th. It is always a joyful time, with treats of all kinds, gorgeous outfits, and fabulous performances. Across the Park, the Met will have Lunar New Year celebrations on February 3rd. Closer to home at Lincoln Center, the New York Philharmonic will have a special Lunar New Year Concert on February 20th.  Various celebrations are happening on the Upper West Side in New York City. A notable event is the February 5th Lunar New Year Tasting at Han Dynasty, which promises a unique dining experience.
