Play Street Museum

Play Street Museum is a destination for families with young children seeking an engaging, educational, and safe indoor play space in Manhattan. Located at 805 Columbus Avenue, this 1,800-square-foot children’s museum is designed for kids ages 1 to 8, offering a blend of imaginative play and hands-on learning experiences.

The heart of Play Street Museum UWS is its interactive “Town Square” exhibit, where children can immerse themselves in a miniature city complete with a veterinarian’s office, grocery store, fire station, pet shop, and even a mini studio apartment. Kids are encouraged to take on roles, perform real-world tasks, and let their imaginations guide their play. There’s also a massive train table and a giant recycle truck, both of which are major attractions for the little ones.

Beyond the main exhibits, Play Street Museum offers a rotating Discovery Rug, weekly themed activities, and enrichment sessions that cover music, art, science, and practical life skills like brushing teeth or pouring water. For creative minds, the PSM Craft Co. offers crafts by reservation, including pottery and slime-making. The museum is also mindful of children with sensory needs, providing a quiet corner with building blocks and sensory toys.

Play is organized into 90-minute sessions, which must be reserved in advance to ensure a safe and uncrowded environment. Admission is $35 per child (ages 1–8) and $10 per adult, with older and younger siblings admitted free when accompanying a paying child. At the end of each session, children are treated to a healthy snack. The facility is shoe-free, so don’t forget to bring socks for both kids and adults.
