Self-Guided Walking Tour – Lesser Known (but Popular) Places to Visit
Have you ever been asked by a fellow New Yorker, relative, or friend the best way to view the Upper West Side? Without hesitation, I suggest they lace up their sneakers, find a good walking tour, and start your exploration. The journey starts at Congregation Shearith Israel on West 70th & Central Park West (America’s first Jewish congregation) with stops at such spots as the Eleanor Roosevelt Monument, Pomander Walk, and West Side Community Garden before ending up at Alice’s Tea Cup. This itinerary, while longer than most of our walks (4 miles), has many opportunities to rest before finishing your adventure. We hope you enjoy this stroll through the streets of the Upper West Side. Recently, we posted an article about Lesser Known (but popular) Places to Visit on the Upper West Side where you can learn more about the locations on this tour.
