Josie Robertson Plaza
Josie Robertson Plaza is a 28,000-square-foot open-air heart of Lincoln Center, serving as the gateway to one of the world’s foremost performing arts complexes in Manhattan. Designed by Philip Johnson and completed in the 1960s, the plaza is surrounded by venues such as the Metropolitan Opera House, David Geffen Hall, and the David H. Koch Theater. At its center stands the celebrated Revson Fountain, renowned for its spectacular, choreographed water shows—sometimes jetting water up to 40 feet high—which have graced the silver screen in films like Moonstruck and Black Swan.
The plaza is a public space, recently transformed to host large-scale participatory art installations and events, including NYC’s largest outdoor dance floor and seasonal festivals. Visitors gather here to mingle before performances, enjoy free public concerts, and take part in community celebrations. With its grand staircase, ample seating, and illuminated nighttime ambiance, Josie Robertson Plaza remains a gathering spot for New Yorkers and visitors alike, embodying the energy and creativity of the city’s cultural life. Located at the gateway to the Lincoln Center at Columbus & West 64th Street. lincolncenter.org
