Children’s Museum of Manhattan
The Children’s Museum of Manhattan (CMOM), located on the Upper West Side at 212 West 83rd Street, is New York City’s premier destination for interactive learning and play for young children. Designed especially for ages 0–6, CMOM features hands-on exhibits and programs that spark curiosity in arts, science, and culture, all within a joyful, safe environment. The museum welcomes around 350,000 visitors each year and is committed to accessibility, reaching families across all five boroughs—including those in shelters and underserved communities—through outreach and partnerships.
Founded in 1973, CMOM has a rich history as a community resource and continues to nurture creativity, empathy, and lifelong learning. The museum is currently planning a major expansion to a new location at 96th Street and Central Park West, set to open in 2028, which will double its capacity and broaden its offerings for children up to age 10. Located at 212 W. 83rd Street (between Amsterdam & Broadway). 212.721.1223 cmom.org
